New Delhi [India], April 23 (The NewsZ Desk): Rainfall on Tuesday evening brought a sudden change in weather to the national capital, as multiple areas of Delhi experienced showers.
The brief downpour provided some relief to commuters who had been enduring the scorching April heat.
As predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi’s temperature is expected to remain around 38 degrees Celsius for the next 2-3 days, with a possibility of light rain on Monday.
IMD Senior Scientist Dr Naresh Kumar stated to ANI that the temperature in Delhi is expected to stay around 38 degrees Celsius for the next 2-3 days. Following this, there might be a gradual increase of 1-2 degrees and a chance of light rain. He also mentioned that in Eastern India, temperatures have already reached 44 degrees Celsius in a few stations. Over the next 4-5 days, temperatures in Eastern India are forecasted to touch 44 degrees Celsius. However, temperatures are not expected to exceed 40 or 41 degrees Celsius in Northwest India.
Senior scientist Naresh Kumar from IMD, Delhi, has indicated that a severe heatwave is currently prevailing in East India, and it is anticipated to persist for the next 4-5 days in some states.
